| There is no legal restriction on ownership
of real estate by non-Caymanians or non-residents. Individuals may purchase
real estate over the age of eighteen or through a corporate entity. An
identified and numbered form on all properties is the registered title,
which is a public record at the Land Registry Office. This office governs
property transfers. The Cayman Islands guarantees property title: therefore,
title insurance is not necessary. The vast majority of property in Cayman
Islands is freehold or absolute title. Castaways’ Cove falls under
this category. Title of property is transferred by the execution of a
Transfer of Land Form, which is filed and registered with the Lands office.
